This claim is actually insane and yet still very true. The mayor went with two other members of congress to tour an illegaly built ICE private prison which is the craziest thing I've ever heard of. He was arrested for trespassing by 20 armed ICE agents. There are a lot differing naratives about what actually happened so it is kind of hard to say for certain who was in the wrong in the situation. The Daily News said that the group showed up unannouced for a tour which is completely reasonable for the mayor of the city to do.

According to McLaughlin, there is body cam footage of Baraka and the others he was with assaulting ICE officers while tresspassing on a federal immigration detention center in Newark, NJ.
