The above claim points directly to another NewsDetective post that claims Johnathan Ross suffered internal bleeding in the torso, though the claim in this particular case denies Ross suffered internal bleeding.

According to a heavily criticized CBS News report, Jonathan Ross suffered internal bleeding in the torso and was hospitalized. Kristi Noem, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) secretary and a notorious figure affiliated with the Trump Administration, said "The officer was hit by the vehicle. She hit him. He went to the hospital. A doctor did treat him. He has been released.” The government officials who reported on his alleged medical condition were never named in the CBS article and there are no medical or incident records from any hospital or clinic provided in the article. The article was written by Nicole Sganga and Jennifer Jacobs, the former is CBS’s homeland security and justice correspondent while the latter is a senior White House reporter for CBS News.

The CBS article, as previously mentioned, has been heavily criticized. The Guardian reported that many staff within CBS were concerned by the ambiguous sources and possible misleading nature of the article. Additionally, the Guardian writes “Since Weiss took over as editor-in-chief in early October, the network has faced accusations of favoritism toward the Trump administration.” This shows that the information provided by the CBS article may be biased towards the Trump Administration’s rhetoric and purposefully ambiguous and misleading.

Another article, published by the New York Times and cited by Forbes, states that doubts are continuing to be raised about the legitimacy of the claims of internal bleeding, including its alleged cause of Ross being struck by Renee Good’s vehicle. The original video footage of the incident has left these outlets deeply questioning the legitimacy of DHS and the Trump Administration’s anonymous claims. Additionally, Forbes reports that “the extent of the agent’s injuries remain unclear as of Friday, and no medical officials have released any information about his condition.”

In summary, some news outlets. such as CBS. reported that Johnathan Ross did suffer internal bleeding. However, these articles have come under fire for being written in an intentionally misleading way due to the political viewpoints of staff within these media outlets. Currently, no health officials or official medical reports have been released about Jonathan ROss’s alleged condition, and the alleged cause of Ross’s internal bleeding has been called into serious question with recent analysis of multiple angles of the video footage by several major news outlets and independent social media users.

I also noticed this post because it directly disputed another post, which supported the argument that the ICE agent who reportedly shot and killed Renee Good is suffering from internal bleeding. I love how you highlight the potential bias news outlets have when delivering a story. The administration holds much power when controlling an outlet. If an outlet is not presenting a story that supports their campaign or is persuasive enough to gather the attention of a bigger audience, they can instantly cut their funding. Knowing the political standpoint behind this CBS post, with its heavy ties to Trump’s administration, there is space for questioning if this source is fully true or heavily tainted to paint a story that did not happen. There is no evidence of this ICE agent’s medical records. No one from the hospital or nursing staff has come out with a statement. We cannot just believe a story because it comes from an administration. An innocent person passed away from his brutality. He was able to return to his family after being supposedly treated in the hospital, she wasn’t.
