After calling for the Jeffery Epstein files to be released by the FBI during his 2024 presidential campaign, Donald Trump is now claiming the Epstein files are a hoax. In a recent post on Trumps social media platform Truth Social, the president claims the reason democrats are focusing on the "Epstein hoax" is to draw attention away from the government shutdown which he blames them for. Recently emails between President Trump and Epstein from before Epstein's arrest were released. In one of these emails from 2019 Epstein says that Trump was well aware the sex trafficking Epstein was conducting. Before these emails the main source used by democrats were pictures of Trump and Epstein together. With these new leaked emails, it would now appear that Donald Trump is in or has heavy ties with the Epstein files.

This is comically false. According to Times Magazine and the Department of Justice, Trump has been mentioned in the new release of the Epstein files hundreds of times. The New York Times found that he was mentioned in more than 5,300 files. The Epstein files contain documents, images, and videos detailing the criminal activities committed by Jeffrey Epstein and his close social circle, which includes the elite members of society. Bill Gates, Prince Andrew Mountbatten, Lord Mandelson, Melania Trump, Elon Musk, Sarah Ferguson, Richard Branson, Steven Tisch, Ehud Barak, Howard Lutnick, and many more. Trump has ties to the Epstein files, not only because he is explicitly mentioned in them, but also because he was a close friend of Epstein. There are many pictures and videos of the two together in social and casual settings. The DOJ released the flight log for Epstein's plane, and Trump was mentioned.

1. This is proven to be false as it has since been seen by the public. In fact Trump himself is aware and is trying to convince the nation that we need to move past this narrative.
2. AP News released a video from Donald Trumps press conference, of him addressing the files release and asking for the nation to move past the fact his name is stated in these documents.
3. Almost every news site from PBS, CNN, NBC, all the way to BBC overseas. They have all addressed how Donald Trump is mentioned not once but over 38,000 times with in the Epstein files.
4. Sources like CNN do tend to lean more democratic. However, if international news sources such as BBC which comes from the United Kingdom a US ally states that Trump is involved they should be fairly neutral on US politics.
5. There seems to be no evidence supporting this claim. In fact all evidence seems to show that this claim is false.
6. Trump may spread miss information about the findings with in the Epstein files causing people to believe a false narrative undermining the truth.
