The claim that "The NFL is rigged and scripted" is false and absurd to begin with. I can some what understand why some fans feel that way especially after controversial calls or dramatic game outcomes, but saying the NFL is scripted or rigged doesn’t really hold up. The league is made up of thousands of players, coaches, referees, and staff, and the idea that they’re all in on a scripted storyline isn’t realistic. There are definitely bad calls and questionable decisions, but that shows the human side of the NFL along with the fast pace of the game not a coordinated effort to manipulate outcomes. If the league were truly rigged, it would be nearly impossible to keep something that big a secret. The NFL thrives on competition, unpredictability, and passionate fans, and that’s what makes it exciting.
I think its borderline disrespectful to say that the league is scripted. The leagues players who have been working for nearly all of their lives to master their position in the game don't work that hard to cheat the game they've dedicated their lives to. These players have worked to be the best in high school, spending thousands of dollars to attend camps for recognition opportunity, and working their way through NCAA, one of the most competitive levels sports in America, all to be drafted and achieve their dream of being in the NFL, and become an actor in a way and follow a script seems unrealistic to me.

I have found an article (listed above) that disproves this theory of the NFL being rigged and scripted and explain how running-back Adrian Foster was joking to go along with a current social media "trend", that joked about the league being scripted. Foster's comment saying "Tearing my ACL in 2012 was probably the worst thing that Roger ever scripted," pokes fun at the trend.

The article (above) responds to a joking tweet calling the NFL “rigged” after a strange replay decision in an AFC Championship game, clarifying that the NFL doesn’t rig games and can’t control or keep outcomes secret. Weird plays or missed calls happen due to human error, not because the league wants a certain team to win. The legalization of sports betting has made fans more suspicious when unusual things occur during games. The NFL understands these concerns and works to prevent any game-fixing or manipulation, but mistakes still fuel doubt. To maintain trust and protect the integrity of the sport, the league needs to improve officiating and close loopholes that could allow influence on game outcomes.
