Think of this as your investigation log. Answer each question to explain what you discovered and how you got there.
1. Write a brief overall summary of your findings.
-Overall I have discovered that neither of the two meats is necessarily better for you, white meat has slightly more protein and slightly less fat, while dark meat has a bit more of that fat and less protein. Though there is this difference it really is not notable enough to completely write off one of the options as bad.
2. What primary sources did you find (e.g., transcripts, videos of politician speeches, tweets from public figures, scientific studies)? For each source, write at least one or two sentences explaining what you learned. Include all links.
-I used this source from eating well, which is a platform that has actual dietitians share facts about food. https://www.eatingwell.com/white-meat-vs-dark-meat-which-is-healthier-8416235 . From this source I was able to see all the nutrition facts to see that the two types of meat were almost the same. The only difference might come down to some of the micros you are consuming.
-I used the national library of medicine looking for health positive facts about meat, https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10297552/ , This follows up with what my other findings have told me, neither is really better than the other. It all depends on diet and preference
3. What secondary sources did you find (e.g., newspapers, magazines)? Only use secondary sources if sufficient primary sources are not available. For each source, write at least one or two sentences explaining what you learned. Include all links.
-Hello Fresh, https://www.hellofresh.com/blog/ingredient-info/dark-meat-vs-white-meat , This brand helps people diet and get them good food, again this is lining up with the other sources
-Purdue Chicken, https://www.perdue.com/the-table-blog/solutions/preparation/dark-meat-vs-white-meat-choosing-the-right-cut-of-chicken , This one yet again shares the same points and details as my other sources
4. What potential biases or interests might each of your sources have?
-Potential biases could be from Hello Fresh and Purdue because they are both sellers looking to sell product.
5. What evidence supports the claim you are fact-checking?
The nutritional facts listed in the articles
