Think of this as your investigation log. Answer each question to explain what you discovered and how you got there.

1. Write a brief overall summary of your findings.
2. What primary sources did you find (e.g., transcripts, videos of politician speeches, tweets from public figures, scientific studies)? For each source, write at least one or two sentences explaining what you learned. Include all links.
3. What secondary sources did you find (e.g., newspapers, magazines)? Only use secondary sources if sufficient primary sources are not available. For each source, write at least one or two sentences explaining what you learned. Include all links.
4. What potential biases or interests might each of your sources have?
5. What evidence supports the claim you are fact-checking?
6. What evidence undermines the claim you are fact-checking?
7. What happened when you tried contacting the person or group who made the original claim? (Always try to contact them—it’s okay if you don’t get a reply. For example, if the claim is that the president said something, try reaching out to the administration. If it was a Bluesky user, message that user on Bluesky.)

It looks like you copied and pasted the investigation log without your input. Please provide. Don't forget sources. Thanks!

According to the website where the list is posted, his verification status is "verified". Though the original post you linked is no longer available, another blue sky poster linked an article from Telemundo (Spanish-American broadcast company owned by NBC) which, when translated from Spanish to English, tells about how Tarrio himself confirmed he is a part of ICE in a post he made on social platform 'X'. In the post, he replies to a user making the same claim that he was found on the leaked list of Florida ICE agents, saying "A list I’m finally happy to be part of…." Tarrio's quote is admittedly vague and while he says he's a happy to be a part of the list, that doesn't necessarily confirm it as 100% true, though the implication heavily weighs that it is.

Seems that the claim is false according to NBC's WRAL location station.

I think you did a solid job investigating the claim about Enrique Tarrio supposedly being found on a leaked list of ICE officers. You didn’t just rely on the initial Reddit post, which is important because Reddit isn’t a verified source and posts can be easily misleading. You traced the story to better coverage from a professional fact-checking organization (Lead Stories) and also looked at what Tarrio himself said on X. That shows you weren’t satisfied with screenshots alone you followed the claim all the way back to its original context.

Do you have any sources for this? Thanks!

Think of this as your investigation log. Answer each question to explain what you discovered and how you got there.

1. Write a brief overall summary of your findings.

I found that Enrique Tarrio, the Ex-leader of the Proud Boys has been named in a leaked document saying that he is an ICE employee.
2. What primary sources did you find (e.g., transcripts, videos of politician speeches, tweets from public figures, scientific studies)? For each source, write at least one or two sentences explaining what you learned. Include all links. https://lavocedinewyork.com/en/news/2026/01/15/former-proud-boys-leader-enrique-tarrio-named-in-leaked-ice-documents/. The VNY states that a whistle blower in the DHS gave the names of 4500 ICE member and Tarrio being one. https://x.com/nowthisimpact/status/2011634099359006766/photo/2
NowThisImpact also states that hes been found in the leaked documents and makes a joke saying "Fork Found in Kitchen".
3. What secondary sources did you find (e.g., newspapers, magazines)? Only use secondary sources if sufficient primary sources are not available. For each source, write at least one or two sentences explaining what you learned. Include all links.
4. What potential biases or interests might each of your sources have?
There may be potential biases against ICE due to their recent actions.
5. What evidence supports the claim you are fact-checking?

A member of the Department of Homeland Security leaked documents naming Tarrio a member of ICE.
6. What evidence undermines the claim you are fact-checking?

There is no direct photo of his name being in there it is only word of mouth. There are also no large media companies picking up the story either.
7. What happened when you tried contacting the person or group who made the original claim? (Always try to contact them—it’s okay if you don’t get a reply. For example, if the claim is that the president said something, try reaching out to the administration. If it was a Bluesky user, message that user on Bluesky.)

The claim that the leader of the extremist organization called The Proud Boys, Enrique Tarrio, is on a list of leaked ICE officers, is true. Yet, it is also true that Tarrio himself has claimed that he is not employed by ICE, and Tricia McLaughlin, a spokesperson for the DHS told a member of the Associated Press that, “This individual was never hired by ICE.”

With that, the validity of this claim is in if you believe the leaks made to the “Ice List” wiki are entirely based in fact. The Department of Homeland Security would say that these leaks are false, but they have an extreme bias towards this. Some things to consider, Enrique Tarrio made a post on X saying that he was proud to be a part of this list, although he now claims it was satire, as he told a reporter for the Atlantic. Ice List is owned by a far left news organization called Crust News, so it would be easy to argue in the other direction as well, claiming bias against ICE. What sways me is that they list his role as: “Propagandist; Agitator”, which means he is not on the street, and would instead be employed as a tool of their machine, which to me seems like something he would do without being paid.

Just to note, the other Bluesky post was not available so I found a screenshot of the post, which was from the Bluesky account for The Editorial Board.
