Many say it's impossible to overdose on weed, and based on what I found, that statement is mostly true but a little misleading. According to data from the National Programme on Substance Abuse Deaths in England, out of more than 3,400 cases where cannabis was detected in a person's system, only one death was actually caused by cannabis toxicity alone. Most of the others involved other drugs, heart problems, or accidents like car crashes and falls. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Institute on Drug Abuse also report that a fatal marijuana overdose is extremely rare. Still, they note that people can take more THC than their body can handle, leading to panic, confusion, psychosis, or dangerous behavior. Cannabis also raises heart rate and blood pressure, which can cause heart issues in people who are already at risk. So while you can't realistically smoke or eat enough marijuana to die from the drug itself, it's not completely harmless either. The real danger usually comes from impaired judgment or combining it with other substances. Saying it's "impossible" to overdose on weed leaves out some crucial details: the direct risk of death is almost zero, but the indirect ones are very real.
