This claim spreads incorrect info and is misleading. After reading several articles related to the creation of the state of Israel, it is true that European Jews invaded Palestinian territories. However, European Jews began migrating to Palestine starting in the late 19th century corresponding with events like the First and Second Aliyah as described in (History of Jewish immigration to Israel (Aliyah) as a result of a rise in the Zionism movement and the desire to establish a Jewish state as they believed it was necessary to escape the persecution and anti-semitism with the advance of nazism (State of israel proclaimed | May 14, 1948 2025). The migrated European Jews with the support of other countries like the U.S. (Press release announcing U.S. Recognition of Israel (1948) and the Balfour Declaration (Balfour Declaration 2025), were able to establish Israel on May 14, 1948. On this day the British Mandate over Palestine expired and the Nakba began after initial attacks launched by Jewish militias on Palestinian civilians led to many fleeing persecution (About the nakba - question of Palestine)

Genocide, conflict, war, and tragedy are words being used to describe the situation between Palestinians and the Israelis. Genocide is defined by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum as, “certain acts committed with the intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group. Genocide is an international crime, according to the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (1948). The acts that constitute genocide fall into five categories: Killing members of the group, causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group, deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction, in whole or in part, imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group, forcibly transferring children of the group to another group”. Ongoing debates regarding whether or not to constitute what Israel is committing against Palestine as genocide. The main argument in opposition says Israel claiming their target is Hamas not the Palestinian civilians (American Jewish Committee, 5 reasons why the events in Gaza are not "genocide" 2025). Obviously, those accusing Israel of genocide provide evidence of the high death rate from deaths caused by the military grade weapons armed by the IDF, the refusal of incoming aid, and the deliberate attacks on humanitarian buildings and centers like fertility clinics, schools, hospitals, and aid distribution centers (How did a UN inquiry find genocide has been committed in Gaza? | Reuters 2025).

For those looking for a clear stance on whether genocide is being committed, I implore you to do your own research and discover where you lie within this “argument”.
