This isn't a claim so much as simply just a press release made by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission. The Commission is withdrawing multiple stalled regulations and shifting toward a more limited regulatory approach under new leadership. Acting Chairman Peter Feldman said the agency will no longer pursue rules that "promote unscientific agendas, impose unnecessary costs, and reduce competition," instead focusing only on regulations where federal intervention will meaningfully advance safety. The withdrawn rulemakings include safety standards for table saws, recreational vehicles, and aerosol products, along with outdated rules on radio antennas and refrigerator safety. The Commission also confirmed it will not regulate or ban gas stoves, consistent with the Trump administration's commitment to preserving consumer choice.
