The evidence provided in the linked video is quite weak. The speaker argues that Gazans are photographing children with genetic disorders that cause severe weight loss and trying to pass them off as starving due to Israeli occupation. His "proofs" are that photos often show only one underweight child rather than an entire population of underweight people, and that images of starvation typically feature children, not adults.

This argument contradicts reports by major global organizations like the IPC (Integrated Food Security Phase Classification), which warned in July 2025:

"The worst-case scenario of Famine is currently playing out in the Gaza Strip. Conflict and displacement have intensified, and access to food and other essential items and services has plummeted to unprecedented levels. Mounting evidence shows that widespread starvation, malnutrition, and disease are driving a rise in hunger-related deaths. Latest data indicates that Famine thresholds have been reached for food consumption in most of the Gaza Strip and for acute malnutrition in Gaza City."

This assessment is echoed by sources including the World Food Programme, the New York Times, and Reuters.

Beyond contradicting established reporting, the flimsy argument that frequent depictions of children as starvation victims proves the famine is fabricated falls apart under scrutiny. NPR notes that "kids are even more at risk of starvation than adults because of the demanding physiological requirements for growth and fewer energy stores." Similarly, UNICEF reports that "Children affected by stunting [impaired growth and development] begin their lives at a marked disadvantage: they may never attain their full possible height, and their brains may never develop to their full cognitive potential." Both facts suggest that the effects of starvation present themselves more obviously in children, both physically and developmentally, making them a key demographic to center when trying to report on famine conditions (and visually showing others the results of those conditions).

This claim is misleading. As of August 2025, the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) has warned that Gaza is experiencing a worst-case scenario of famine, with two of three famine thresholds (extreme food scarcity and acute malnutrition) already met. The UN reports that families, especially women and children, face deadly risks just to obtain food. Over 175 people, including 93 children, have died from starvation and malnutrition. While Israel denies a policy of starvation, aid groups and international agencies attribute the crisis to restricted humanitarian access and decades of blockade.

This claim is incredibly misleading with unreliable sources for information attached. According to the IPC 2 out of 3 families in Gaza are in extreme famine. As of May 2025 Gaza has been declared in catastrophic levels of food insecurity, leading to numerous deaths and hospitalizations already. Over 750,000 Gaza's citizens have been misplaced, separated from their homes, as well as their loved ones. Attempts to bring Gaza aid have been blocked by Israeli military with essential convoys being looted or completely destroyed. More than 100 of crucial organizations for aid have called for Israel to allow Gaza aid, but Israel continues to create starvation/famine in Gaza. 20,000 children have been treated in hospitals, with hundreds of them with irreversible damage or dead.

This claim is incorrect and the linked video is has holes in it. In the video it is mentioned that the reason Gaza isn't starving is because there are no pictures of groups of people starving and only individual pictures. Not only is this a weak argument but evidence is just subject to photography. According to PBS News, The World Health Organization mentioned that there had "been 63 malnutrition-related deaths in Gaza this month, including 24 children under the age of 5 — up from 11 deaths total the previous six months of the year." (https://www.pbs.org/newshour/world/israels-leader-claims-no-one-in-gaza-is-starving-data-and-witnesses-disagreeThis quote also shows the exponential increase in starving related deaths. The UN news said something similar to this as well. Ross Smith, UN World Food Programme (WFP) director of emergencies said, "“It's clearly a disaster unfolding in front of our eyes, in front of our television screens,” regarding the widespread starvation, malnutrition and disease. (https://news.un.org/en/story/2025/07/1165517) More recently, Aljazeera has provided the amount of death due to starvation and the numbers are still increasing and they heavily imply a starvation issue. Alai Chughtai wrote about these numbers and stated, "As of August 19, the known number of people who have starved to death in Gaza, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry there, reached at least 271people, including 112 children." (https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2025/8/18/israel-starving-gaza-hundreds-of-deaths-including-many-children) Overall, this claim is incorrect and many trustworthy sources would agree that there is an issue of starvation in Gaza.

After reviewing this source, the claim is misleading. The video/link above says that the photographs used are false and that they are using photos of people with diseases instead of those who are really hungry. Published by CSIS, the reasoning behind this whole situation is because of a movement that was made by Gaza as a solution to obtain hostages that were kept by the Hamas during a war. As they thought this would help, it led to a spiral effect and caused starvation for the people of Gaza (https://www.csis.org/analysis/experts-react-starvation-gaza).  As said by "UN News," they explain that they gathered evidence that shows that widespread starvation is one of the reasons leading to a rise in deaths that are hunger related (https://news.un.org/en/story/2025/07/1165517). PBS reports, "The World Health Organization said Sunday there have been 63 malnutrition-related deaths in Gaza this month, including 24 children under the age of 5 — up from 11 deaths total the previous six months of the year" (https://www.pbs.org/newshour/world/israels-leader-claims-no-one-in-gaza-is-starving-data-and-witnesses-disagree). This data really speaks for itself and proves that Garzas death rate is increasing heavily due to the lack of food.

This claim is false because there are multiple reputable sources that dispute this claim. 1 in 3 people in Gaza go without food for days at a time and hunger-related deaths are on the climb. There are also 2 out of 3 famine indicators already in play, which include food consumption is down and people have acute malnutrition. There have been many malnutrition related deaths recently in Gaza, 24 children under the age of 5 which is increased from the previous year. PBS also says that "Gaza's only 4 specialized treatment centers for malnutrition are "overwhelmed"' which further shows us that the claim that "No, Gaza isn't starving" is completely wrong and misleading. Even in the New Yorker, Israelis are talking about how bad the famine is in Gaza. Saying that "These are people who haven't eaten in days," this further proves that even people in a war against Gaza will recognize that people are starving. There is amounting evidence to prove that this claim is false and that people in Gaza are starving.

The idea that “Gaza isn’t starving” is not true. Many trusted organizations say people in Gaza are facing a serious food crisis. The World Food Programme said, “Key food and nutrition indicators have exceeded famine thresholds,” meaning many people don’t have enough to eat https://www.wfp.org/news/new-gaza-food-security-assessment-sees-famine-risk-persisting-amid-ongoing-fighting-and. UNICEF reported that “half of Gaza’s children are now malnourished” and many are at risk of dying without help https://www.unicef.org/press-releases/un-agencies-warn-key-food-and-nutrition-indicators-exceed-famine-thresholds-gaza. Action Against Hunger also said, “Over 71,000 children under five suffer from acute malnutrition”. This is very important to know because it shows the urgent need for food and aid in Gaza, and saying people there are not starving ignores the real suffering happening every day.

Gaza is facing a very serious hunger crisis, and many people, especially children, are suffering. There isn’t enough food, and hospitals don’t have the supplies they need to treat sick and hungry people. According to Time Magazine, a U.N.-backed report says that Gaza is going through a “worst-case famine,” which means many people are starving and some areas have already met the official conditions for a famine (https://time.com/7306189/gaza-famine-level-ipc-israel-aid/?utm_source=chatgpt.com). In another report from PBS News, doctors say that over 60 people, including many young children, have died from hunger and malnutrition in just a few months. Some of these children had no other health problems but died simply because they didn’t get enough to eat (https://www.pbs.org/newshour/world/israels-leader-claims-no-one-in-gaza-is-starving-data-and-witnesses-disagree?utm_source=chatgpt.com). Despite all of this, some leaders have said that there is no hunger problem in Gaza. However, PolitiFact checked these statements and said they are false. They pointed to clear facts from aid workers and health experts showing that many people in Gaza are starving and need emergency help right away (https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2025/jul/29/benjamin-netanyahu/benjamin-netanyahus-pants-on-fire-statement-that-t/?utm_source=chatgpt.com). It is clear from all of this that the people in Gaza are facing a life-threatening situation, and the world needs to take action to help.

This claim is loosely supported by questionable evidence in the video. The video makes empty claims with no real evidence that major news resources are lying about the state of hunger because the photos being shared are only of starving children. Another claim he made was that the children shown in the photos have genetic disorders however there was no real proof to back up his perspective.

In an article by NPR and their sources affiliated with the U.N. shares that the current state of Gaza hunger is one of the “worst-cases”. The article goes into detail on the number of cases of malnutrition and deaths caused by hunger in Gaza since April. Stating “20,000 children have been admitted for acute malnutrition treatment between April and mid-July” These studies were produced by IPC which is a global initiative that provides food security analysis for charities and U.N.. The IPC also released a statement in this article that many are being killed trying to access food. This statement further shows the lack of accessibility to food. A statistic given in the article is that 1 in 3 people living in Gaza have to go multiple days without consuming food. The article also states the 9 out of 10 households have to scavenge and search through trash to find food scraps.  https://www.npr.org/2025/07/29/nx-s1-5483520/gaza-famine-hunger

In another article, PBS dives into directly disputing the claim made in the video. The article calls out Israel's President for making a false claim that there is no starvation in Gaza. The article backs up the claim that there is indeed starvation in Gaza using data and witnesses as their sources. For example, the article pulls death counts from The World Health Organization with the cause of death being malnutrition directly disputing the claims made by Israel's President. Another statement made is that the number of food trucks being sent into Gaza is significantly lower than the number needed. This is leading to mass groups of starving humans swarming the trucks in hopes of being fed.

The New York Times addresses this topic by refuting this claim. The article is based on a real family and their experiences in Gaza since the war started. They go into detail on how food has become unaffordable since the war has started. The Article also brings in the hospitals prospectives on this issue stating that they are filling with increasing numbers of patients dying from starvation. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/07/24/world/middleeast/gaza-starvation.html

The UN said in Gaza, there is much evidence of famine and widespread starvation. In contrast, the World Food Organization recorded the death of 63 people due to famine. On the other hand, we have UNICEF, which confirms the increase in malnutrition rates. And let's not forget Al Jazeera, which confirms that there are several deaths due to hunger, including children. And many other reliable sources that document famine and hunger. Then this claim comes and says that Gaza is not starving. I believe that this is not true and that Gaza is starving. The meanings must be clarified, and such claims must not be published until after verification.
