Ukraine is losing so badly to Russia they’re now abducting people off the streets to forcibly draft them into the army.

Hey I hear the Ukraine is getting their ass kicked by the Russians so bad they need to kidnap people off the streets and force them into the army. If you like to  defend them so much maybe you should stop being a keyboard warrior and go fight for your racist cause

This claim is exaggerated and misleading. While it may seem like kidnapping, Ukrainian military recruiters are using legal "aggressive" tactics, such as stopping men on the streets, in public transport, and at entertainment venues to check their documents and issue draft notices. According to ABC News, "In late spring a law was passed to lower the conscription age and tightening draft rules. Conscription officers now patrol the streets looking for military-age men, checking their papers and sometimes taking away those who are subject to the draft. That has sent many young men into hiding, rarely venturing outside. Others have gone abroad." The New York Times and BBC has reported that conscription officers are actively looking for men to serve after  significant manpower shortage due to casualties, long war duration, and a decline in volunteerism.
